The supporting framework of the turf comprises
a PP primary backing that is reinforced with a secondary backing
of glass fiber for dimensional stability. |

At the base of this artificial
grass matting is a curled reinforcing yarn, for extra toughness.
This bouclé matting strengthens the sandfill (±
12-mm density), and its weight gives the artificial grass added
stability. |

Thiolon LSR artificial grass
is used within the bouclé matting, with scored piling.
The yarn dimension of the artificial grass is 11,000 Dtex. Combined
with the rubber infill, this provides for a low friction playing
surface that is second to none in terms of slide friendliness,
good ball bounce characteristics and excellent shock absorption
capacity. |

Post Fibrilated Blades of
Grass |

After the rubber granules have been put into the surface
it leaves 15 mm of LSR grass blades protruding at the top
of the surface. The last process is to fibrilate mechanically
these blades with a brush so that this upper surface acquires
a layer of fine grass blades which cover and camouflage the
rubber infill.
